How to use the free demo feature of
ShredIt X for Mac OS X
File Shredder / Hard Drive Cleaner
ShredIt X comes with a trial version which allows you to see how the software works before you purchase it. ShredIt X runs in Demo mode when it has not been registered (I.e. you have not entered a Serial Number). The demo looks and performs exactly like the full version of the program, but instead of erasing files or folders, it only deletes them. In addition, the following configuration items are disabled: Number of Writes, Write Pattern. There is no limit to how long you can run the program demo mode.
Once you have purchased it, you can enable the fully functional version of the program by entering the registration information. To upgrade your demo version to the full version, just click the "Buy Now" button.

Drag the ShredIt X folder to wherever you keep application software.

Double click the ShredIt X icon.
The Registration dialog will appear when you launch the program, displaying four buttons:
Quit – to quit the program, click the “Quit” button
Run Demo – To run the demo, click the "Run Demo" button and then follow the instructions below.
Buy Now – If you wish to purchase this program now online, click the “Buy Now” button and follow the instructions.
Register – To register the program now, click the "Register" button.
Click the "Run Demo" button.
