In the preferences, enable the confirmation feature.
From the “ShredIt X” menu, select “Preferences” and click on the "Settings" tab. Tick the "Confirm File", "Confirm Folder" and/or "Confirm Freespace" shredding tick box, as required. For further information, refer to the "How to Install ShredIt X" section of the ShredIt X ReadMe (pdf)

ShredIt X will now require confirmation before shredding will take place. To shred the item click the "Yes" button on the confirmation dialog.
