How to play video on a TV on Mac OS X using MacVCD X
You can use MacVCD X to play video on your TV provided both your Mac has s-video out and your TV has either s-video in or composite in.
Requirements:
- MacVCD X Video Player
- Mac computer that has a TV out port (S-video out port) - check your owner's manual for "External Video support"
- TV with s-video in or composite video in (check your owner's manual)
- Video cables
- An s-video cable, if your TV has s-video in
- An s-video-to-composite adapter and a composite video cable (from your computer store), if your TV has composite video in
- A mini-plug to RCA audio Cable (from your computer store), optional
Instructions:
| 1. |
Connect the video cables. Follow the directions in your Mac User's Manual to connect your TV to your Mac's TV out port.
- If your TV has s-video in, connect your computer's TV out port to your TV using an s-video cable
- If your TV has composite video in, connect your computer's TV out port to the s-video-to-composite adapter, the adapter to a composite video cable and the composite video cable to your TV
| 2. |
Connect the audio cables.
- If you have a mini-plug to RCA audio cable, connect your computer's headphone port to the audio input ports on your TV
- If you don't have a mini-plug to RCA cable, you can use the speakers of your computer to broadcast the audio, but the sound won't be as clear
| 3. |
To run MacVCD X, double click the MacVCD X icon.

| 4. |
In File>Preferences, check "Present Movie on Display 2" .

| 5. |
Insert the VCD or find the video filer using the "File" menu and play the movie
Notes:
- If your Mac does not have s-video out (a TV out port), there may be a third party solution out there for you. Search the internet for a "TV Adapter".
