Making a DVD/VCD/SVCD is a 2 step process:

  1. Create the content - the movies to be shown. These are called the source movies. iVCD can use many source file types, including AVI, Divx, Xvid, MPEG, .mov, iMovie and Quicktime Movie.

  2. Author the DVD, VCD or VCD. Authoring is a three step process:
    • convert the source files to MPEG

    • create the disk image

    • burn the MPEG to a DVD (SVCD, VCD etc)

iVCD will do all three steps for you with the push of one button, or allow you to do the three steps, one at a time.
