You don't have to wait for NetShred X to run before shutting down, logging out or restarting
- From the NetShred Main Dialog, click Logout button and NetShred X will erase your internet tracks and log you out, or
- From the NetShred Main Dialog, click Shutdown button and NetShred X will erase your internet tracks and Shut down your computer, or
- From the NetShred Main Dialog, click Restart button and NetShred X will erase your internet tracks and restart your computer

NetShred offers advanced erasing features:
- NetShred can erase for all your profiles or just some of them. If you use profiles with your browser, you can choose the profile(s) you want NetShred to shred.
- NetShred erases Quicktime Cache. NetShred X can be configured to erase Quicktime cache, created when you watch a Quicktime movie on the web.
- NetShred is Standards compliant. By default, NetShred always shreds to US Department of Defense 5220 “Clear” standard, but it can also be configured to comply with the most well-known shredding standards

You don't want a copy of your internet tracks, and backing them up adds to the length of time it takes to do a back up. For efficiency, run NetShred X before you back up your library.
Exactly how much disk space do your internet tracks use?
In the test lab, we ran a machine for just one week without using NetShred X. At the end of the week, the Library folder size before running NetShred X was 408.3 mb. Then we ran NetShred X. After running NetShred X, the Library folder size after running NetShred X was 343.1 mb. (408.3 - 343.1 = 65.2)
